Maybe Pass on the Seconds
We know it's the Fourth of July and all, but according to a new study released this week by the Trust for American's Health Louisiana ranks as the 8th highest state in adult obesity and 7th highest state for childhood obesity. The study titled "F as in Fat" concludes that over 28% of our adults are considered obese and almost 40% of our kids are. Another alarming find in the study is that in 1991 not one state had an obesity rate of over 20%. Now 31 have a rate of over 25%. They also believe that because of the economic crisis and the fact that Louisiana has no nutritional standards for school lunches, that the problem will continue. Mississippi ranks number 1 among adult obesity and Colorado comes in dead last. Click here to read for yourself...
