Crying Won't Help You, But Buckwheat Might

Alright, this week's music selection is one for the bizarro section. The awesome Mr. Stanley Durel, aka Buckwheat Zydeco, was featured in this article by Cortney Devores, for the charlotteobserver.com. That led us to Youtube.com where we found this clip of Buckwheat's version of the Led Zepplin classic, When The Levee Breaks. The track features Gov't Mule guitarist, Warren Haynes, obviously channeling Sonny Landreth (and doing it well too!). Now, the guy who posted the video, chose to use the 80's video game Galaga for the background...I suppose because nothing says Zydeco more than a cover of a classic rock song backed with an 80's video game right? The fact that the game keeps going long after the song ends just makes it all the more weird and wonderful for me. So, read the article, jam out to the song, and marvel at the 2-D graphics. It's Thursday friends.
