Safe Haven
KATC's Jim Hummel filed this report about an ad campaign run by the state's Department of Social Services to promote Louisiana's Safe Haven law. The law permits infants to be surrendered to the state anonymously, and without question if the child is under 31 days old, and shows no signs of neglect or abuse. Infants can be dropped off at fire stations, hospitals, police stations, clinics, and pregnancy crisis centers. Watch the report here.
