Houser Speculation

Jeff Duncan wrote a column for the Times-Picayune yesterday that raises the question of why Kevin Houser may have been released by the Saints last week. Duncan points out that Houser's performance was exemplary over the nine seasons he served as the team's long snapper. Houser never had a botched snap that cost the Saints points or a game. Add to that, the fact that Houser's replacement, Jason Kyle, will cost the Saints at least $100,000 more in salary ($745,00 vs. $854,000). So why was Houser released? Duncan surmises it was Houser's role in an investment opportunity that went bad for several Saints teammates and coaches. Read the article here.
