Not So Fast Update
A bill we first reported on June 24, that would redirect funds generated from speeding tickets issued by municipalities to state coffers, was signed into law by Gov. Jindal yesterday, according to an article in Landlinemag.com. Keith Goble reports that the new law is intended to discourage small towns from setting up speed traps to generate revenue. Proponents of the law say such speed traps discourage commerce and travel throughout the state. Read more here.
