Louisiana Sees Increase In Home Values

Despite the economic conditions the rest of the country is suffering, Louisiana is one of only 5 states to see home values rise during the past year. Louisiana's home prices as a whole are up 3.1% while the rest of the country fell over 10%. Unfortunately though, Lafayette has seen a dramatic decline with average home prices falling almost 7%. The main reason being according to Phil Hoffman, president of the Louisiana Home Builders Association, is the fluctuations in the oil prices over the past year.
