36 Hours
Well, here's one that gives me no pleasure in posting. John Avalon, writing on thedailybeast.com, reports on Louisiana resident, Audra Shay, vice chairman of the Young Republicans, and leading candidate to be elected it's chairman on Saturday, embroiled in controversy regarding racist comments on her Facebook page. It is reported Shay left and defended the comments made by one of her Facebook "friends", for 36 hours before removing them. You can read the article here, and come to your own conclusions. However, in 2009, this is hardly the type of national attention that benefits Louisiana.

This is just lovely. I think the problem here is that we tend to hold leaders at all levels to higher standards. Once we come to grips with the fact that everyone is human, and lots of these humans are idiots, we'll be better off. The more I hear about the people in charge these days, the more I'm convinced that Thomas Jefferson was proof of extra-terrestrial life on this planet.
