Lafayette is Still Growing

New US Census data was recently released and according to a story in today's Daily Advertiser by Jeff Moore, Lafayette is the only city in Louisiana with a population at least 100,000 to continue to gain residents. Even though it is the 3rd smallest parish in state, it is the 6th largest in population, which means we're not experiencing as much sprawl as many of our neighbors. The Advertiser also has a really nice chart on the right side of their article outlining all the population figures for area towns. You can find that here. And if you're the kind of person that enjoys demographics and statistics, check out the Louisiana page of the Census bureau.
