A Ville Platte family discovered a full grown, 200 pound black bear in a tree in their backyard yesterday. Officials say the bear was originally from a wildlife refuge in Avoyelles Parish and were unsure how it made its way to the Ville Platte backyard. They tranquilized the bear to get it out of the tree then transported it to another wildlife refuge in North Louisiana. KATC has more on the story.
