What's My Name

NPR's Alison Stewart did a piece for Weekend Edition on Saturday regarding the controversy brought about by Brigadier General, Michael Walsh, referring to Senator, Barbara Boxer, as "Ma'am" rather than her preferred title of Senator. My problem is not with Stewart, or General Walsh, or Senator Boxer. My concern is that this issue has become the national story and not the dire condition of our coastal wetlands, which is what the General and the Senator were brought together to discuss at the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Study hearings in the Senate Environment and Public Works committee. See? It's right there in the title of the hearing...Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration. Listen here.
