Lawmakers who want to accept the stimulus money said the dollars were needed to help the growing number of unemployed workers in Louisiana, where the jobless rate has hit 6.2 percent. Some Democrats have accused the Republican governor of refusing the stimulus money to score partisan political points and enhance his national prominence.
