Calling All Musicians...

Louisiana record label Valcour Records and the Lafayette location of the Tipitina’s Music Office Co-op (at 510 Johnston Street) are joining forces to present a pretty fun songwriting and production contest during the month of July.

The contest will work like this:
Artists will contact Tip's Co-op to schedule a time to come in and record a song from START TO FINISH (you cannot have anything prerecorded but you can already have the song written/practiced.). Bands will fill out a form, and turn it & the song in at the end of the session. The Tip's folks will then submit it to the Valcour guys and they will pick a winner to receive $200, and Artist of the Month on their website. In addition, the song will appear on an upcoming Lafayette Music Scene compilation CD due out later this year. Visit the Tip's Foundation blog for all the rules and details.
