High School Vandalism

The Lafayette Police report that the Lafayette High School mascot statue was vandalized last night. It is suspected that the vandals threw several large rocks causing damage to the lion and breaking off a large piece of the it's jaw. The damage to the lion is not repairable and is estimated at a replacement cost of approximately $10,000.00.

In other high school vandal news, Northside High School was also burglarized last. The suspect entered through a back window of the business department and took two laptop computers along with one printer and one monitor.

Detectives are asking for anyone with information on either crime to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
