Every once in a while, I wake up to find that the blog gods have left a gift for me. This one has it all, a severed hand; a language barrier leading to a big misunderstanding; a doggie; and a quote containing the phrase "fixing to". Sometimes this job is almost too easy. Our tale (or tail) begins with a dog found gnawing on a severed hand behind a seafood store in Bogalusa. Owners of store call the sheriff. Store owners only speak Korean, sheriff can't understand them and leaves. Store owners then bury severed hand. That's right... they buried it. "They had buried the hand because they did not know what to do with it," said Sheriff Robert Crowe. Of course, what else could they do?
Another call to authorities results in the location of a human corpse, "a skull, and a few other things,". The mind reels doesn't it? Just what could a "few other things" entail?
Fear not citizens, "We found a decomposed body laying across a log and we are fixing to go ahead and rope off additional territory," Crowe said late Friday. Fixing to and going ahead. Right on! The whole story sans snarky commentary is here.
