The new South Regional Branch of the Lafayette Public Library opened last month and it's nice! The building is beautiful, but I have to admit...while I have visited the library close to ten times in the past month, I've only been inside once. That's because the library offers a DRIVE THRU WINDOW and the convenience is amazing. They have the entire catalog online here, and if there's a book you want, search for it, put your name on the list, and they'll get it for you. When the books are ready for you to pick up, they simply send you an email telling you that they are ready and you can use the handy drive thru window to get them. It's that easy!! No more card catalogs, and hours of mindlessly wandering around, wondering where to go. It's wonderfully technological and it works for me. I have never used the library so much then I have in the past month. Definitely worth checking out.
