The Scoop on Cypress Mulch
When you work in your garden this year, you might want to choose something other then Cypress Mulch if you want to help preserve Louisiana's wetlands. That's because a lot of cypress mulch is harvested from the Atchafalaya Basin and the Gulf Coast wetlands of Louisiana, which help buffer us from hurricanes and storm surges. Instead, you could opt to use pine bark mulch, pine straw or even newspapers. For more information on the subject, visit www.saveourcypress.org.
