The Louisiana IceGators professional hockey team returns to Lafayette this fall. The team is owned by Danny Smith, and will compete in the class A Southern Professional Hockey League. Games will be held in Lafayette's Blackham Coliseum and former IceGator Ron Handy will coach the squad. The club will begin selling season tickets and unveil information on their website www.icegatorshockey.com in the coming weeks. The season is tentatively scheduled to kick off on Oct. 23 against Biloxi, Miss.
