Well, we made another list again. Top 5! Yes....we are among the top 1% of all the states in the union for....venereal diseases. Yes! So, in an effort to reverse that, Representative Pat Smith from Baton Rouge introduced a bill to the House to require schools to teach Sex Education. That bill failed 23-67 but not without some lively debate like the usual: "Why not just leave that to the parents" (Rep. Greene, BR) and the more bizarre: "would this bill require the teaching of masturbation and homosexuality" (LaBruzzo, Metairie), and my personal favorite: "Will it be a big ole party in there?" (Badon, Carencro).Yes, health class is nothing but a big ole party....
