What's Wrong With This Picture?

Well, the House passed a health care bill, and the bill passed with only one Republican vote. So far, my brain recognizes these facts as par for the course in today's political landscape. But wait one cotton-picking second, the lone Republican vote came from Louisiana? This does not compute....world spinning off axis. (that last sentence was meant to be read in the voice of the Robot from Lost In Space..."Danger Will Robinson!") Sure enough, Rep. Joe Cao stood up for what he believed was the best for his constituents (again in Robot voice: "fabric of time-space continuum about to buss' wide open" I think Fred Sanford's voice crept in there at the end. There's a Sanford and Son marathon this weekend on TV Land.) Indeed, check out the disbelief on the part of CNN news actress Betty Nguyen while interviewing Cao. And he has the nerve to answer in a soft spoken, and civil manner! Where's the hyperbole? The misinformation? Where's the politics of distraction? The shouting? "Hold on Elizabeth, I'm coming to meet ya. This is the big one!"

  1. This no good S.O.B. Cao needs to be tarred, feathered and ridden out of Louisiana on a rail. All he is is another stinking RINO who's cut out of the same cloth as liberal commiecrats.

  4. @ Jeff & Dave: Nor did the first commenter display any courage whatsoever, political or otherwise! He obviously has fabulously cheap and efficient health care (France?) and never gets sick or injured - and he is independently wealthy enough so that the bankrupting of the US Government at the hands of a bloated, corporate controlled, wrong-headed and downright criminal state of healthcare in America won't effect him. More power to ya, R.W.! Notice the smokescreen of late fingering Obama's proposed budget or 'the cost of his healthcare programs' as the culprits likely to bankrupt the nation? Oh, if it were only that simple. Mr. Obama would have to get in line after the sham health care system we've lived under for decades to claim that honor. People are so afraid of this vague specter of 'big bad government run health care' without realizing that it's been run by 'big bad corporations' forever. At least when ill gotten profits are pocketed by government, it's our pockets. The way it is now, the few large health insurers, banks, pharmaceuticals and lobbyists haven't shared a dime with those they've been fleecing!!

OR, R.W. was just parodying a la S. Colbert. If that is the case .... nevermind.
